    A Warriors icon is calling it a day

    Former club captain Simon Mannering will formally announce his retirement at a press conference at the club's Mount Smart headquarters, which is just getting underway .

    The 31 year old forward has played 293 games for the NRL club, and been a key cog in the side since making his debut in 2005, scoring 63 tries.

    It's been widely speculated he'd call it a day, having last month announced his international retirement.
