Police across the middle of Northland are being applauded for responding to the call to find innovative ways to prevent crime

For the past two and a half weeks Mid-North police have had a 24-hour roster.
It's already paying off, with a drop in burglaries in the area.
Police Minister Stuart Nash says he's asked the Police Commissioner and his team to think outside the box when finding ways to keep communities safe.
He says it's great to see police up north being innovative and focusing on important issues in their area.
