The Office of the Inspectorate has released a report that finds Invercargill Prison met inmates' basic needs and kept them safe.
Corrections chief custodial officer Neil Beales says in areas the Inspector raised concerns, prison management took immediate steps to rectify it.
This included the length of time prisoners in the Intervention and Support Unit were kept locked up
Beales says this has been addressed, and prisoners aren't locked up for an excessive period of time.
