Police are making significant changes to their operations after the release of a wide-ranging review into the 22-hour Kawerau siege

Rhys Warren shot four police officers, injuring three seriously, while barricaded in a house after taking issue with cops ripping out his marijuana plants.
The Kawerau siege was the biggest shoot-out in New Zealand's history.
Armed offenders entered the house Warren was holed up in, and shot 46 times after he fired at them.
Along with other findings, the Independent Police Conduct Authority found officers never should have entered the house, and the decisions made put their lives at risk.
Police accept the findings and are adopting all the report's recommendations.
Warren surrendered peacefully the next day.
He was sentenced to an indefinite jail sentence on a range of charges, including attempted murder.
