Naomie Harris went from Bond girl to LEGO girl to unveil the toy company's new 007 Aston Martin DB5 model at the set's global launch at the LEGO Store in London on Wednesday (18.07.18)

The 41-year-old English actress - who plays Miss Moneypenny in the action franchise opposite Daniel Craig as the suave spy - was the special guest at the flagship shop as fans got their first look at the mini brick vehicle

The world famous car was driven by the first ever Bond Sir Sean Connery in the 1964 film 'Goldfinger' and the 1:8 scale replica Aston Martin DB5 is comprised of 1,290 pieces and when completed boasts the vehicle's famous rotatable license plates, pop-up machine guns and a working ejector seat.

Speaking as she became one of the first people to get her hands on one of the models, Naomie said: "It's such an honour to be here. To see the iconic DB5 re-imagined in LEGO brick form is such an exciting moment to be part of and the attention to detail on the model is truly remarkable."

And LEGO designer Michael Psiaki added: "James Bond fans will go wild for all of the authentic features and functions we've put into this car including the tyre-scythes, pop-up machine guns and working ejector seat. The iconic status of James Bond's DB5 makes this car a perfect fit for the Lego Creator Expert series. We're really excited to unveil our LEGO brick version of this elegant and timeless machine."

Ahead of the unveiling, those in attendance were treated to a bespoke, private guided tour of iconic James Bond props, including the 1/3 scale model of the Aston Martin DB5 from the explosive final scenes in 2012's 'Skyfall' and Bond's Driving Licence.

The LEGO Creator Expert James Bond Aston Martin DB5 (RRP £129.99) is available from Shop.lego.com and LEGO stores now.

And to celebrate the launch, 007 fans can win a once in a lifetime trip to the '007 Elements' exhibition in Solden, Austria. Log on to Shop.lego.com/promotions to enter the competition.
