Joshua Johnston obtained three million dollars from victims who were asked to invest in audio-visual contract and leasing work in Waikato.
He's already pleaded guilty to three charges of obtaining by deception and is due to be sentenced in the Wellington District Court next month.
Police say more people have since come forward believing they too have been fooled by Johnston.
Detective Darryl Gera says the new victims believe they've lost up to 300-thousand dollars combined.
He says they're still investigating the complaints.
