World number one Dustin Johnson has carded a five-over 76 to slump to 131st, alongside last year's Masters winner Sergio Garcia.
American Kevin Kisner enjoyed the benefit of morning conditions to card a five-under 66 round and claim the outright lead.
Kiwis Michael Hendry and Ryan Fox are tied for 80th at two over, with the former back in the clubhouse.
