The 2014 Tour de France champion has been forced out of the three week stage race

Italian Vincenzo Nibali has abandoned the Tour, after fracturing a vertebrae in his back when he was brought down following a tangle with spectators near the top of the climb up Alpe d'Huez .
Last year's runner-up Rigoberto Uran abandoned the race prior to the start of the 12th stage, after failing to recover from injuries sustained in a crash on stage nine.
Welshman Geraint Thomas will again wear the leader's yellow jersey tonight, leading his Team Sky team-mate and three-time defending champion Chris Froome by one minute and 39 seconds.
