An Auckland principal says he's spoken with the family of 13-year-old Ella Berrington since her death yesterday

An Auckland principal says he's spoken with the family of 13-year-old Ella Berrington since her death yesterday

Emergency services responded to a call at 7:20 yesterday morning where Pakuranga College student Ella and Tamaki College pupil Nathan Quist were found dead following a crash.

Police believe speed was a factor that caused the car to split into four pieces upon impact with a building on Pakuranga Road.

Pakuranga College principal Mike Williams says staff are doing all they can to provide support to those affected.

He says their first priority at this stage is looking after her family and friends but he's also emailed parents expressing condolences.
