Jacinda Ardern stepping into uproar over Mt Albert town centre upgrade traffic jams

As MP for Mt Albert, the Prime Minister has requested a briefing from Auckland Transport officials into what's been described as "endless problems, omissions and flaws".

Local businessman Calab Goncalves says the damage is done, and people don't want to come through Mt Albert now because the congestion is so heavy.

On top of that he says it's pushing large volumes of traffic into side streets.

Goncalves says it's dangerous as there are pedestrians and school zones.
