Jurors in New Zealand are typically paid between 62 and 80-dollars dollars a day for their service - far less than the minimum wage.
Budgeting and Family Support Service CEO Darryl Evans says it's common for people to struggle financially while on duty.
He says the simple solution would be to increase the amount they get paid.
Evans wants to see jurors receive normal wages, as people who are serving the community shouldn't be out of pocket.
