Porn police will mostly keep jobs

Deputy Commissioner says police officers caught with email porn will largely keep their jobs

    2 May 2005
A top police executive says most of the officers caught with e-mail porn will keep their jobs.

It was revealed last month that more than 300 police staff had objectionable images on their computers.

Deputy Commissioner Lyn Provost has told police magazine Ten-One that the officers who do not face criminal charges could have the incident wiped from their record after a year.

She told the magazine the officers would have to accept it was inappropriate and attend a one-day workshop.

Lyn Provost said if there was no repeat behaviour within a year, officers would get a clean slate.
