Police in Australia say they have foiled plans for a large-scale terrorist attack after carrying out raids overnight in Melbourne and Sydney.
Nine people have been arrested in Melbourne, and another six taken into custody in Sydney.
New South Wales Commissioner Ken Moroney sats police have disrupted terrorist plans in their final stages.
Although many details are being kept under wraps, Commissioner Moroney has spoken out about the raids, saying he is satisfied this was going to be a large scale attack within Australia itself.
He says 400 officers were involved in raids in Sydney.
It was only last week that the Federal Government rushed a controversial amendment to its anti-terrorism laws through the Australian Parliament.
