    Rugby league changes

France is likely to play alongside Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain in an expanded rugby league Tri-series.

    3 December 2005 - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

France are likely to play alongside Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain in an expanded rugby league Tri-series from 2009.

The Great Britain RFL has outlined a 'road map' for the future of the sport, including a Lions tour to Australia in 2010, another Tri-series in Britain in 2009 and a World Cup, also in Britain, in 2012 or 2013.

RFL operations director Nigel Wood says the profits for the recently-completed Tri-series are down considerably on the 2004 event, which made just over one point eight million New Zealand dollars.

However Wood says the tournament has still finished in the black.
