Rowers getting into stride
Rowing crews preparing well for season ahead after two days of simulated races on Lake Karapiro
24 April 2006
It has been a successful weekend for New Zealand's elite rowing crews on Lake Karapiro.
They have endured two days of simulated races against each other in preparation for the season ahead.
Rowing New Zealand high performance manager Andrew Matheson says the crews are slowly building form and fitness.
He says all of the crews are currently in the heaviest training workload so they are not expecting much, but things are progressing well.
World champion pairs rower Juliette Haigh is expected to be back training today after suffering a rib injury.
