A 19-year-old Te Puke woman has been charged with drunken driving, after blowing a reading of 750. That is five times the legal limit for her age, which is 150.
The woman, who is six months pregnant, did not have a licence and was carrying three passengers when police stopped her in Dive Crescent.
She told police she was driving because she believed she was the least drunk of the four, and wanted to get back to Te Puke. She will appear in court next month.
