The attempted abduction of an Australian tourists in Nelson has ended with a man handing himself into police

A 42-year-old man has handed himself into Nelson police over an attack on an Australian tourist. The 24-year-old woman fought off a man who tried to abduct her at a local school on Sunday.
Detective Aaron Kenaway says a man asked to speak with a detective at eight thirty this morning. He has since been charged with attempted abduction.
Detective Kenaway says the man, of no fixed abode, will appear in the Nelson District Court today.
