    Recreational Marine: Northland
Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 2030hrs Thursday 28-Mar-2024 by MetService

    Situation:
A series of fronts embedded in a southwest flow affect Aotearoa/New Zealand today. A ridge of high pressure builds over the South Island on Friday and persists through the weekend. A cold front crosses the North Island on Friday, then a low develops just to the northeast early Saturday and directs a strong southeasterly flow over the North Island. Southeasterlies over the North Island ease on Sunday as the low pulls away to the east, and the ridge over the South Island spreads north. The ridge dominates on Monday, but a front approaches the South Island from the southwest later in the day.
