A boom in travel between Auckland and mainland North America

A boom in travel between Auckland and mainland North America

    Auckland Airport
    Auckland Airport
Auckland Airport says 20-percent more New Zealanders and 56-percent more Americans flew those routes over summer, compared to the previous summer.

Chief Customer Officer Scott Tasker says they've seen a huge increase in available seats.

He says that's because six airlines are now flying non-stop to seven destinations in mainland North America.

Tasker says they're landing in cities and hubs that can quite easily funnel people to and from New Zealand, so it's getting easier to fly.
