A child's in hospital after being resuscitated by a lifeguard at an Auckland pool

A child's in hospital after being resuscitated by a lifeguard at an Auckland pool

Emergency services were called to the Mt Albert Aquatic Centre yesterday afternoon where a boy, approximately three-years-old, was in a critical condition.

Auckland Council's Principal Pools and Leisure Specialist Garth Dawson says a lifeguard performed a successful rescue and resuscitation procedure after seeing a young child in distress in the water.

He says the pool's operators Belgravia Leisure are investigating.
