Richie Sambora has a "different perspective" on everything discussed in Jon Bon Jovi's documentary

The 64-year-old rock star was the lead guitarist of Bon Jovi for 30 years from 1983 but more than a decade on from his shock exit in 2013, he appeared in his co-star's Disney+ documentary 'Thank You Good Night' where he explained that he left the band so he could enter rehab again to deal with his alcohol addiction but has now claimed that the whole project is not necessarily done from his point of view

He told People: "It's his project and it's his perspective. I have a different perspective on all of that."

Richie left the band in the middle of their tour without any warning and explained in the documentary that he "doesn't regret" quitting, but does regret how he went about doing so.

He said: "I don't regret leaving the situation, but I regret how I did it, so I want to apologize fully right now to the fans, especially, and also to the guys, because my feet and my spirit were just not letting me walk out the door."

Meanwhile, Bon Jovi recently admitted that he was unsure whether Richie's sudden departure came as a "shock" or not but noted that his appearance in his film was for the sake of the fans.

Speaking on SiriusXM's 'The Howard Stern Show', he said: "I don't know if it was a shock or not. It's 11 years ago now...it was not easy. The shock was that he didn't show up and the issues that he was having again. That was the shock, and that was the disappointment. He came clean in the film for the fans so that I guess it would end all this speculation that there was ever a fight or any of that stuff because as I'd stated a thousand times - not the case, just...not the case!"
