Rising to 2000 metres in the west tomorrow. south islandKaikoura ranges Mostly fine, but a few showers developing tomorrow afternoon. Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks to Mount Aspiring Fine. Fiordland Mainly fine at first with a few showers in the south. Cloud and showers spreading elsewhere for a time tomorrow morning and afternoon. WINDS South or southwest winds, strong or gale in exposed places tomorrow. FREEZING LEVEL About 1800 metres sloping to 1000 metres in the northeast today, becoming 1800 metres but 1200 metres in the south and east tomorrow.
