Isaah Yeo has become the first Australian men's player in seven years to win the Golden Boot award as international rugby league's best player

    12 December 2024 - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The Penrith lock and Australian captain oversaw a defeat of Tonga in the Pacific Cup final to exorcise any remaining demons from their loss to New Zealand in the 2023 decider.

Yeo is the first Australian player since Cameron Smith in 2017 to win the Golden Boot award - though no award was given in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid.

Kiwis captain and Yeo's former Panthers teammate James Fisher-Harris had been the incumbent Golden Boot recipient.
