New housing rules haven't yet cooled the market

New housing rules haven't yet cooled the market

    7 April 2021
March was the hottest month on record for Auckland real estate giant Barfoot and Thompson.

It sold nearly two-thousand homes for an average more than 1.1-million dollars.

That's despite new loan-to-value ratios, and laws to discourage investors.

Managing Director, Peter Thompson, predicts property prices won't show the effects until May.

But he says activity did slow slightly for a few days straight after the announcements.
