Briscoe Group managing director Rod Duke is confident of a turnaround despite expecting a drop in profits

The retail giant says underlying net profit after tax is expected to be just below 2023's numbers, but are expecting it to exceed 40-million-dollars.
But their six-monthly sales increased for the fourth successive half-year, reaching about 372-million-dollars.
Duke says a turnaround is possible -- but only when the wider economy also does.
He says the suburbs need to feel more secure about outgoings -- like insurances, wages, inflation and petrol prices.
