New property listings dropped significantly in June across 15 of the country's 19 regions

But asking prices and buyer interest are holding steady.
The latest figures from realestate.co.nz show almost a 10 percent drop in listings compared to June last year.
Spokeswoman Vanessa Taylor says In the South Island, three of the seven regions recorded increases in new listings compared to June 2017.
They were Nelson & Bays, Marlborough and Canterbury.
At the same time, new listings fell in every region in the North Island apart from Wellington, which recorded a 5.5 per cent increase.

Gisborne down over 41 percent, West Coast down almost 26 percent, and the Wairarapa region down 27 percent.
