Emma Willis wants to be a midwife

The 'Voice UK' host may have a highly successful presenting career in the UK but she has admitted if the work all dries up in the future, she'd go into maternity after she fell in love with it while being a maternity care assistant for a new documentary recently.

Speaking in August's edition of RED magazine, she said: "Honestly, it's one of the best things I've ever done. I love it. If it all went t**s up, I'd happily just do this instead."

But if the 42-year-old presenter did decide to embark on a career in a pair of scrubs, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise as her mother Cathy used to be a nurse.

She explained: "I grew up in an environment where you did jobs like that. And then I found myself being a model, which was a bit weird."

Emma spent 12 weeks working alongside midwives at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, in Harlow, Essex, for 'Delivering Babies' on UKTV's W Channel and has admitted the whole process - including the 13-hour shifts - was a "dream come true."

And the brunette beauty is certainly experienced when it comes to children as she has Isabelle, nine, Ace, six, and Trixie, two, with her husband, Busted star Matt Willis.

But, although she didn't follow her mum into medicine, Emma has admitted she copied Cathy by having her third child at the age of 40 because she didn't want to "regret it."

She explained: "I'd got my body back to normal for the first time in years but then I thought it's now or never. I didn't want to look back and regret it."

Matt and Emma have been married for 10 years and they believe their relationship works because they still "fancy" each other and make one another laugh.

She said: "I still fancy him to bits and he makes me laugh. I suppose the best way I can describe it is that he is home to me. When I'm with him I feel I'm home."

The full interview is in August's RED magazine, on sale on July 3.
