AMI and State Insurance are hiking premiums to reflect higher earthquake and flood risk for some.
Others in the less risky areas of New Zealand will pay less.
They says customers in areas at higher risk of natural hazards, such as earthquakes, floods, and landslips, are expected to see a 91-dollar average increase in their yearly premium.
These include parts of Whakatane District, Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, Greater Wellington, Marlborough and the West Coast.
Customers in other parts of the country could see their premiums lowered by an average of 54 dollars.
