Christchurch Police hunting stolen car after Blenheim Road crash this morning
Christchurch Police are hunting a stolen car and its driver after a crash on Blenheim Road that caused disruption for commuters this morning
31 July 2018
Police began pursuing the stolen vehicle around 5:50am, before it pulled over near the corner of Blenheim and Wharenui Road.
However, as officers approached the car, the driver fled again - and as police pulled back onto the road to give chase again, they crashed with another vehicle.
No one was injured ... but westbound traffic was detoured for more than an hour.
Police say they will investigate the crash and pursuit internally - something that's standard practise.
