Another option on the table is a judicial review of the DHB's decision to
downgrade Lumsden Maternity Centre.
MP Hamish Walker says the decision's based on a report containing incorrect
data - and the centre was not consulted on it.
He says some mothers will face a 130 kilometre trip to give birth - and the
impact must be considered - including whether the birthing unit's closure could
result in severe birth injuries.
Walker says ACC would surely have a view on this, but it hasn't been
consulted on the report either.
