House prices are up across almost the entire country
House prices are up across almost the entire country

The latest Real Estate Institute of New Zealand figures show median house
prices in 14 of 16 regions are up, on August 2017.
Gisborne, Tasman, and Manawatu/ Whanganui saw record prices last month and
Auckland hit its first year-on-year increase in six months.
Canterbury is down less than one percent, while Southland is down four
percent.
Institute chief executive Bindi Norwell says property demand is strong in the
regions.
She says more properties need to be built because there's not enough supply
to meet demand, which is driving prices up.
