A powerful typhoon has brought heavy rain and high winds to Japan's main islands, leading to flight cancellations and power outages in several cities

Category two Typhoon Trami is the latest storm to threaten the country in a year of weather-related woes, including punishing heat, heavy rains and landslides.
The outlying Okinawa island chain, about 1000km southwest of Tokyo,has been pounded by heavy rain and high tides today.
Trami is forecast to reach the main island of Honshu tomorrow.
