Plasterer Thomas William Daley pleaded guilty to his fourth drink driving charge when he appeared in the Hamilton District Court during the week.
He was driving along Grey St, in Hamilton East, with a car full of mates in August when police got complaints about his driving.
The 27-year-old was subsequently stopped and breath tested, eventually returning a result of 1164 micrograms per litre of breath.
The legal adult limit is 250.
Daley told police he'd only had four cans of Woodstock and was driving his mates to another friend's house.
Judge Kim Saunders was unimpressed with his high reading, saying she couldn't believe no other road users were hurt.
He'll be sentenced in January.
