Buses are replacing some train services in Wairarapa after a derailment
7 January 2019
Metlink says no passengers were on board when the train came off the tracks yesterday.
It says the cause of the derailment remains unknown.
A crane is needed to lift the locomotive and carriage back onto the tracks, which could take some time.
But it's hoped trains will be back in action before the afternoon peak.
All services between Masterton and Solway stations this morning are being replaced by buses.
