Just over half of under-fives sick in Auckland's measles outbreak have ended up in hospital

Waitemata and Auckland DHBs' Dr Karen Bartholomew says 52 per cent of children aged 0 to four have been hospitalised.

And an interim report into the region's 1307 total cases shows overall hospital admissions are also much higher than usual.

Winter is still making its mark this Spring - a snowfall warning has been issued for many parts of the country overnight.

MetService says snow is expected on the Napier Taupo Road and Desert Road.

For the South Island, it says snow will fall on the Lewis, Arthurs, Porters and Lindis Passes, as well as the Crown Range Road and Milford Road.
