Police say the latest gun law reforms will start to address other issues around firearm ownership

Select committee hearings are on today in Auckland and Christchurch on the second round of reform.
The legislation would introduce a firearms register and tighten licensing.
Deputy Commissioner Mike Clement says the reality is, they don't know where guns are in the country.
He says there's an opportunity to think about how important is it know what type of firearms are out there and who's got them.
