Contrary to expectations -- the housing market is booming despite the pandemic

New research by the Real Estate Institute has found first home buyers have dominated in the past few months -- with increasing price pressures and more investors in the market.
And more people are attending auctions and open homes.
Research author, Tony Alexander, says the market has become exceptionally strong.
He says there's a feeling among many people they need to jump into the market at the moment -- encouraged by low interest rates and the fact many people have been trying to make a purchase for a number of years.
