A man whose foot was run over by a forklift is being cared for at Christchurch hospital

Fire crews were initially told a man was trapped under a forklift at Blenheim Rd's Meadowfresh about 11.30am.

But a St John's spokesman says the man's foot has been run over - but he wasn't trapped.

He says the man has serious injuries.
