A pitch invader, who lined up with the Kangaroos during the national anthems before the second Ashes Test in Liverpool, has been arrested.
Daniel Jarvis, who describes himself as a "Prank-Star" on social media platform X, evaded security to stand alongside Cameron Munster while Advance Australia Fair was played at Everton Stadium.
Television coverage captured Jarvis's stunt, in which he wore a replica Kangaroos jersey with "Jarvo 69" written on its back.
"We can confirm that officers have detained a man following an incident at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Liverpool this afternoon, Saturday 1 November," Merseyside Police said in a statement.
"The 37-year-old man from Gravesend, Kent, was detained at around 2:30pm after entering the pitch before the start of the England v Australia rugby league match.
"He has been arrested on suspicion of possession of articles for use in fraud and fraud by false representation, and has been taken to a police station for questioning."
It is not the first time Jarvis has caused a disruption at a sporting event.
He has pulled off security breaches at the Paris Olympics, and international football and cricket matches.
Following the match, Munster was asked about the incident.
Munster said Jarvis requested to stand between him and teammate Pat Carrigan.
"Some guy tried to get in between me and him (Carrigan) and I said, 'Nah'," Munster told reporters.
"Then he asked me again, 'Can I stand next to you and hold you?'. I said, 'Righto mate. Do what you need to do'.
"I just assumed he had some corporate package or some agreement with the Kangaroos that he could jump in for the anthem.
"Then I realised who it was. It was the guy who does that stuff on the regular.
"It took me a while to click on, but it was pretty funny. He got me.
"It was a bit weird, but I just went with it. He got me an absolute ripper.
"Security guards or one of the people who work at the grounds went and grabbed him and were pretty aggressive with him.
"I knew straight away I got stitched up massively."
The prank did little to distract player of the match Munster, who scored a second-half try in the Kangaroos' 14-4 defeat of England.
The result sealed an Ashes series victory for the tourists ahead of the third and final Test at Headingley in Leeds next Sunday.
