Christina Applegate's new memoir is "filled with the ups and downs" of her life

The 53-year-old actress - who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in 2021 - is set to explore all of the highs and lows of her life in her new memoir, You With the Sad Eyes

The Hollywood star - who has also survived a cancer scare - shared: "I've had a career in TV and film since I was three years old, and I loved it. But with MS, all the things I thought were important shifted. For a long time, it felt impossible to find the meaning in everything I've been through, but for the first time in my life I've been able to stop and reflect."

Christina admits that being so vulnerable with the public is a "scary" experience. However, she's promised that the new memoir will be a "real" account of everything she's been through in her life.

She said: "It's scary - not gonna lie - to finally decide to tell it all. But it will be real. It will be filled with the ups and downs, the humour and grief of life."

Earlier this year, Christina admitted that living with multiple sclerosis is the "worst thing" she's ever experienced.

During an appearance on the Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend podcast, Christina said: "This is the worst thing I've ever had in my life. It's the worst thing I've ever gone through."

Christina rarely leaves her house these days, as she struggles with her symptoms.

The movie star shared: "If people saw what my life was like on the daily, they wouldn't ... they wouldn't be able to do it. Because I can sometimes not do it. It's really, really hard.

"I don't really leave the house anymore."

Multiple sclerosis can cause issues such as muscle weakness, vision changes and numbness, and Christina revealed that she's experienced "extraordinary" pain since being diagnosed with the condition.

The actress - who previously enjoyed success on stage and screen - said: "I was losing balance, but the pain was extraordinary. And when I say numb, it's numb, but it hurts."
