    Will finish at noon

    Will finish at noon

It's all go in Taupo this weekend, with over 6-thousand high endurance athletes in town for the Ironman World Champs.

The athletes from around the world will swim over 27 kilometres in the lake, bike around 90 kilometres and run 21 kilometres.

State Highway 5 between Wairakei and Golden Springs will be closed from 6am to 5pm over the weekend, with detours available.

New Zealand Transport Agency's Andrew Brosnan urges to drive carefully around the area.

He says around 15-thousand supporters are also expected to be in Taupo, so it'll be extremely congested.
