    One person is dead and another seriously injured after a shooting incident on the Coromandel Peninsula this afternoon

    One person is dead and another seriously injured after a shooting incident on the Coromandel Peninsula this afternoon


    Emergency services were called to the 309 Road just after 2 o'clock and found two people with gunshot wounds.

    One person died at the scene...a second was flown to Auckland Hospital.

    A person is in custody and police are not looking for anyone else.
