He's in a tie for 12th after his second-round four-under par 68 took him to seven-under overall - seven shots behind leader Lucas Herbert.

Compatriot Kazuma Kobori is tied for 28th, with Josh Geary and Nick Voke the only other New Zealanders to make the cut.

Meanwhile - in the women's draw, Hanee Song is tied for 5th at four-under overall - five shots off the pace.
