The Government's unconventional approach to the fast-track legislation seems to be causing problems

Parliament's Speaker Gerry Brownlee's overruled Barbara Kruiger's relayed advice from House Clerk - that projects benefiting private companies should be removed from the Bill
Labour says it's lost confidence in Brownlee - who didn't reference any previous rulings.
Otago University law professor Andrew Geddis says the way the Government's pushed it through has limited the chance for scrutiny.
He says it's come about because of the way the Government's proceeded with the legislation - essentially keeping details hidden until the very last moment.
