Lana Maree Saunders' spending spree started when she and her family moved back to New Zealand from Australia and into her 85-year-old grandmother's home.
Open Justice reports the 32-year-old asked to borrow some money and used her grandmother's Eftpos card and pin, then bought drugs and paid off debt.
While out on bail, she also went on a shoplifting spree, stealing from several shops while having a child in a pram with her.
Saunders was sentenced to six months community detention, with 18 months of intensive supervision, and was ordered to repay the money she stole.
