Recruitment's underway for a new clinical trial - looking to tackle a challenging type of cancer

Recruitment's underway for a new clinical trial - looking to tackle a challenging type of cancer

The Breast Cancer Foundation's funding a four-year trial for people with lobular breast cancer.

It's aiming to increase survival rates and quality of life for patients, by using a new technology to more accurately diagnose it.

Chief executive Ah-Leen Rayner says lobular cancer is elusive and people with it are more likely to get the wrong treatment.

She says rather than growing as a lump like normal, lobular grows as long single layers - making it harder to detect, diagnose and treat.
