The Medicines Amendment Bill's passed its third reading, allowing products approved to two recognised countries overseas to be approved within 30 days here.
Some pharmacists and nurse practitioners will also be able to prescribe unapproved medicines within their scope.
Labour health spokesperson Ayesha Verrall says her Party is pleased to continue their support.
She says the Bill has a laudable aim, of speeding up the approvals of medications in New Zealand.
