Betty Gilpin is not angry that 'GLOW' was cancelled by Netflix

The 34-year-old actress played Debbie 'Liberty Belle' Eagan on the comedy drama, inspired by the real-life 1980s syndicated women's professional wrestling circuit Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, which was dropped by the streaming giant after three seasons

Betty accepts Netflix's decision and rather pine for what could have been she is proud that the series happened and she was part of it along with her co-stars Alison Brie, Sydelle Noel, Marc Maron and Kate Nash among others.

She said: “I think even though we got cancelled, it’s like, ‘Yeah, we still did it though."

A fourth and final series was due to be filmed and released, with shooting beginning in February 2020, but the plug was pulled on the project due to filming difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Betty is still very much being creatively fulfilled with her other roles and she is particularly proud to have been part of the cast of horror movie 'The Hunt'.

Speaking to Collider, she said: "'The Hunt' is a movie that meant so much to me and that part meant so much to me and there are parts in that movie where I really felt like, ‘Oh, I did the soul thing!

“I feel like sometimes you do a play, sometimes your soul comes out in a room and is recognised for a second and then the air changes and you’re terrible again and it’s all bad and the whole front row’s asleep, but you did it, for one second. And I’m like, we did three seasons. 'The Hunt' came out in theatres for two days."

Betty's 'GLOW' comments come after her co-star Alison insisted a movie would be the perfect way to say farewell to their grappler characters.

She said: "“Our creators are devoted to these characters that they created. I think a movie would be a great way to wrap it up.”
