James Corden would love Sir Paul McCartney to be a guest on 'Carpool Karaoke'

The 39-year-old star has been joined by the likes of Will Smith, Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran in the popular musical segment on his 'Late Late Show' but he hasn't yet been able to sign up the Beatles legend

When asked who he would love to see take part in the show, James exclusively told BANG Showbiz at the UK premiere of his latest movie 'Peter Rabbit' at Vue Cinema in London's Leicester Square on Sunday (11.03.18): "[Sir] Paul McCartney I think.

    "He would be amazing."

If he does land Paul on the show, the 'Hey Jude' hitmaker will have to work hard to match the fun the host - who has children Max, six, Carey, three, and Charlotte, three months, with wife Julia - had when he enjoyed a musical car journey with Bruno Mars as James recently admitted he felt "depressed" when filming stopped because they'd had such a great time.

Asked who his favourite guest has been, James said recently: "I mean, it's a bit like picking your children, you know what I mean? But in terms of the one I've enjoyed doing the most, I think it was probably Bruno. Like, I really, I got a bit depressed afterwards ... Because I'd been looking forward to it for so long and I'm such a fan. When we were done, I was like, 'Oh. I'm not gonna get to do that again,' you know, and so that was incredible."

The hugely popular segment spawned a 16-episode series on Apple Music entitled 'Carpool Karaoke: The Series', and James "really enjoyed" getting to drive around with brand new guests, including Miley Cyrus and her family.

He added to 'Entertainment Tonight': "In terms of the ones that I really love, I really enjoyed the whole Cyrus family. So, it's Miley, Noah, Billy Ray - everybody - all of them in a huge car. It's really quite amazing. You really feel like you're watching that family on a road trip, you know? And then Billy [singing] Metallica is hilarious. There's so many. I'm so proud of it."
