    Nurses negotiations start

Discussions to find an agreement between nurses and DHB's around the country began yesterday in Wellington.

The Independent Panel suggested by the Prime Minister, heard submissions from the New Zealand Nurses Organisation, and the DHB's on the current employment negotiations.

Chair of the panel Margaret Wilson, says the panel was impressed by the submissions made by both parties.

She says there was a good level of discussion between all parties and a full and frank discussion of the issues.

The panel will hear further submissions from both sides, and hopes to have a final recommendation by the middle of May.
